The Peas are literally everywhere.  When I get in a cab, turn on the radio, watch TV and even when I’m just walking around.  They are truly ubiquitously omnipresent and they are doing it in style wearing JUMP!  I have to thank them and Taboo in particular for all the support.  But it’s just the beginning.  Look at how dope that Zeto looks on Taboo!!!!!  It’s an exclusive one-off.  I need those for myself.

And then he whips out the signature JSD satin shoe bags!

They did another few killer performances.  Listen at the very end for the GO GO JUMP JUMP!!  I’m totally McLovin the LOVE!!

BEP on The David Letterman Show in JUMP

Tab’s wearing the Vanquish in Grey Ivis Patent performing their new song, “I Gotta Feeling”, on The David Letterman Show.

It’s been the most exciting FFANY show ever.

FFANY  stands for Fashion Footwear Association of New York.  It’s like the mini fashion week for shoes.  Honestly, it’s not usually very exciting though I hear in the old days it was something else.  However, this season’s has been something special.  It started when I received some shoes I’d been waiting for night and day for weeks.  We’ve had and continue to have amazing success with the Vanquish in all the beautiful materials.  A while back when I’d met Taboo and The Black Eyed Peas, he mentioned we should do a collabo.  Light bulbs flickering and Boom Boom Pow, I kindly asked Larry to put some of our best materials on our newest and soon to be hottest style, the Zeto for Tab.  And boy did he deliver.  Here are the results.

And Captain Lawrence outdoes himself again.  So after what turned out to be a really productive afternoon (read wine and cheese consumption) at the showroom with Zappos, I had to meet Taboo at the store to present him with these shoes for our project and on the way I saw Shawn Pean, my buyer from Saks waiting for a cab with two of his colleagues so Marco, Chris and I scooped him and his crew up in the Jumpmobile (an old school Benz ML).  Mind you, I had only seen these the day before and so they were truly making their debut but of course I had to show Shawn and of course, he loved them!  More light bulbs and we we decided we’d have to do an event with BEP at Saks and introduce these looks there.  Brilliance.

When we got the store, Taboo showed up and we showed him the new illness.  He literally said, “OH FUHSCHNIZZLES.”  Just kidding.  He said something else and was totally floored.  I told him about introducing our collab at Saks and he was all over it.

This is going to be a long post.  Afterwards we had our company dinner at Antique Garage down the road and as you can see here, had a great time as usual.

And then the shots happened.

After that we hit up Richie Rich’s party for Chris Coffee at Garden in the Sky at the Cooper Square Hotel.  Great party, open bar and the weather was perfect for it.  I’d been wondering what the building was.  It’s got a really interesting design.

So last night we hit up the Black Eyed Peas album release party at Griffin (old PM) in Meatpacking which was another dope party.  Taboo was kind of enough to put me on the list to an otherwise completely exclusive event.  Top shelf open bar and we saw just about every celebrity in the world there and I got to introduce Shawn and the Saks crew to the Peas.  Great karma.

Kanye rolled thru.

Rihanna came too and later performed with them onstage.

Tab introduced me to Fergie who was a sweetheart.

Wilmer Valderrama had come to the store earlier that day and wore our boots!

It was an interesting couple of days.  Now I need some rest!

The Sex and the City Shower Guy

Marco, who handles our logistics and customer service, keenly observed that this was the naked guy in the shower from the Sex and the City movie.  Good call Marco.  He’s Gilles Marini and is on Dancing with the Stars as well and has been on a host of TV shows including, Ugly Betty, Dirty Sexy Money, Criminal Minds, Windfall,  The Bold and the Beautiful and Passions.  He loved the Vanquish in Black Silver Kid Crystal.

Yesterday we got a shipment of the Vanquish Visional Patent which is a stiffer patent and different from what we ordered but still looks pretty dope.

I remember when I first started my career as an assistant buyer at Lord and Taylor, I would dread Mondays, not just because of the hangover, but because of all the damn recaps we had to do.  Some days it could literally consume your entire day.  Not only that, you had every vendor you worked with calling you for their reports and if you had a lot of brands, it could really be overwhelming!  Now as a vendor, I hotly anticipate the day to see how well we did and what checked and it can really make or break my week.

Last week, it was resoundingly clear that the Vanquish in Violet Patent Croco was the hands down winner.  In a week, we sold thru over 20% of our inventory, which at retail, in this economy, is utterly unheard of!!  I’ve recently been wearing them myself and in one day, had 2 people stop me on the street, 1 person on the subway and another at a store, who turned out to be the owner, asking where I got them.  What better validation can you ask for?  These things sell themselves!  We’re making new colors of it too.  That’s the cool thing about working in a pretty vertically integrated organization – you can react quickly to the demands of the market.  Actually we’re working on a lot of dope colors of the Vanquish!  Just wait…

For now, get these at Bloomingdale’s – if they’re still there!

Ben Hollingsworth spotted wearing JUMP

It’s funny because this photo was actually shot by a friend of mine.  It’s of Ben Hollingsworth on the left who’s wearing the Paxtons, Nico Tortorella and Sarah Paxton who will costar with him and Mischa Barton in Ashton’s Kutcher’s production, The Beautiful Life.  It will air on the CW.

Here he is again, trying on the Vigor in Navy Patent during the Upfronts.  He was all excited because he walked into the suite already wearing JUMP!

Al Capone wears JUMP

I met Stephen Graham through Andrea, the ultimate connector of people.  He’s been in movies like Gangs of New York and shows like Band of Brothers but I’m really stoked to see him in his next HBO show called Boardwalk Empire, where he plays Al Capone.  Directed by Martin Scorcese!  We were talking about his role and it’s a credit to the power of the writers, directors and actors that craft characters like Henry the VIII, Dexter and Tony Soprano in such a way that you feel a connection to them and root for them even though they may be outright dogs, murderers and criminals.  Stephen tried on the Vanquish and was sold right away.  He said he doesn’t usually wear high tops and opts for his Adidas low tops but once he put on the Vanquish in Grey Nappa, he was converted.  He also remarked that he’d worn Travel Fox back in the UK.  Very cool guy.
